Auckland City Police investigating the murder of 27 year-old Anan Liu - whose body was found in the boot of her husband's car on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 - arrested 53 year-old Nai Yin Xue on his arrival in New Zealand on March 10, 2008. He was deported from the United States where he was held in custody since being arrested and detained on February 29.
On March 11 he was charged with the murder of his wife and will appear in the Auckland District Court for a depositions hearing on September 3 and 4, 2008.
Xue abandoned his three-year old daughter in Melbourne after leaving Auckland on Thursday the 13th of September. She was found abandoned in a Melbourne railway station on Saturday, 15 September 2007. Once Victorian Police had identified the child - Qian Xun Xue and her father, Nai Yin Xue, New Zealand Police were requested to try and find the mother and wife - Anan Liu. On Tuesday, September 18, a CIB investigation team was established in the event she would be found dead in suspicious circustances.
