Operation Waikowhai: $50,000 reward offered for information on the murder of Katrina Ann Jefferies

At about 8:00am on Tuesday 12 July 2005, the body of Katrina Ann Jefferies, a 22 year old Mt Roskill resident, was located semi-clothed, and discarded down a bank on Waikowhai Road, Waikowhai Reserve, Hillsborough, Auckland.

Police inquiries have established that the last confirmed sighting of the victim was by her mother, when Katrina left home on foot, during the early evening on Sunday 10 July 2005.

It is hereby notified that a reward of up to fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) will be paid for material information or evidence, which leads to the identity and conviction of any person or persons responsible for the death of Katrina Ann Jefferies.

The Commissioner of Police will determine the amount of the reward and will, if necessary, apportion payment where there is more than one claimant.

Immunity from prosecution shall be considered for any accomplice - not being the principal offender - who shall first give such information or evidence.

This offer shall remain in force until the 31st December 2007.

Anyone with information relating to the murder of Katrina Jefferies should contact their nearest Police Station.

Katrina Jefferies is:

• Female Caucasian
• Aged 22 years
• 175 cm tall (5 ft 8)
• Medium Build

She was possibly wearing:

• A white long sleeved blouse
• A black button-up jacket
• Dark blue track pants
• Burgundy coloured ladies slip on shoes
• Carrying/wearing a silver/grey walkman

She was found in the Waikowhai Reserve on Tuesday 12th July 2005 at approximately 8.00am.
